In this Competition, distance is fixed at 15 or 16 km for large cows 12 km for medium cows and 10 km
for Karichan cows and 7 km for Poonchittu cows.
The races are held mainly in the villages of Pollachi,Palani,Vellakovil and Valiyae areas.
90 percent of race bulls are of the kangeyam breed though Hallikar, Alambadi and Malaiya
breeds are also popular with racers.
