Attingal, Kerala

Attingal is a municipality in the Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala, India. It is the second-largest town in the district and the headquarters of Chirayinkeezhu Taluk. Attingal was once the location of the Attingal kingdom, which was part of the larger Travancore kingdom.

Attingal is an important commercial and educational hub in the Thiruvananthapuram district. The town is well-connected by road and rail to other parts of Kerala and India. National Highway 66 (formerly NH 47) passes through the town, making it a convenient stopover for travelers between Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam. Attingal is also known for its private educational institutions, including the College of Engineering Attingal.
